Reviews and Complaints
Bad experience
I had a bad experience with a big cosmaticsurgery Dr N. S.
In beverl hills is not only bad but negative. What's funny? . All these fakes reviews.
And lies you can see and fead on all websites. Not only that but also way expensive. Of course I will go to ask for another opinions to correct his mistakes. Realsef does not look after the plastics surrgents who use it for collecting money regardless any thing else.
So please be carful especially with big names with a lot of good reviews. Like ILOVE this Dr.
Please we are here not to love but for having a very good and especially service not for free . But for a lot of money

Made an account on realself so I could scout out average prices for a potential surgery in my area but also in other parts of my country or cities that I could fly to for essentially medical tourism. Made an account to search easily outside of my area but never actually clicked on any of the surgeons or sent requests or anything similar, just scrolled around a map.
Next thing I know I’m getting calls and emails from every surgeon within 50miles of me saying they can put me down for an appointment on specific dates to consult the surgery. I’ve been spammed nonstop for the past few days with these calls and emails and have had to return so many emails and voicemails saying no, I didn’t put forward ANY consult request, please take me off the mailing list.
Very, very predatory marketing.

Preferred solution: someone get together a class act lawsuit if this has happened to so many of us
Don't do it!
I got a cool sculpting treatment from a Hampton salon. They told me the inner thigh was one of the easier places to do it and it usually took only one treatment.
I paid over my hard earned $1800 and had the 'before' and 'after' photos taken, and my weight was the same at the time of both pictures being taken. There was absolutely no change!
The consultant tried to say "Well, there is a little bit of a change..." (b-s). Then she tried to sell me more treatments - "I'd definitely do another couple of treatments". Hello? I asked her why I would paid MORE money when the first amount made no change at all. She didn't disagree...
I am really cross about it and what they told me about it, as for me $1800 is a lot of money. My advice: don't do it - if you're that keen, I believe liposuction is about the same price as 2-3 cool sculpting treatments, and that comes with a definite result!
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

I want to remove my review of the company aesthetiCare medical spa. You need to offer the option to trash and remove a review that the owner of review should be able to remove a prior review.
I made a review that I now want to remove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to remove this review {{Redacted}}Please remove my review. I want to remove a previous review. I want to remove my review to this company.

Realself - repeated bans and censorship
If you've ever used Realself, you may have had comments removed or your account banned. You may also have heard that they're on the side of doctors, and although they certainly promote and protect (paying) doctors at the expense of their user base, the reality is that they care little for either party and only exist to peddle deception and profit financially from human misery. See this thread, which explains how Realself bans users, enforces censorship and extorts doctors in its attempt to destroy the entire plastic surgery industry by wielding full control over it through its middleman pay-per-click business model: https://www.reddit.com/r/censorship/comments/7vuft7/realself_bans_and_censorship/
- Fake positive reviews and deleted honest negative reviews

Dont do it, not worth it
Im cool, my last review they did not post, cause I just spoke the true. Everybody just want to be in your *** business, if your not having problem you get no encouragement.
My surgery was easy breezey so no one took the time to ask how i am doing?
If you have low self esteem dont get on that site, just cut your throat. Realself will not post if your talking negative
Fake Positive Reviews for Docs who Pay $
Do NOT trust any positive review on realself.com! This site is very well known for deleting honest negative reviews and allowing doctors to post fake positive reviews.
My sister-in-law worked for a Columbus ohio plastic surgeon (M. Sullivan) who paid his office sales staff commissions for leads from the fake reviews that frequently posted on realself.
Realself allows this unethical practice and will remove any honest negative review for doctors who pay the site for membership and advertising space. One day, I hope victimized patients who were misled by these fake positive reviews band together for a class action lawsuit against this horrible site!

Preferred solution: Realself.com needs ethics!
Realself is far from real and they and Doctors are scammers
I definitely agree Realself is a fraud when I trusted them to find a surgeon for a tummy tuck and bbl I decided on Dr. Emmanuel Mallol in D.R.
After I was touched in an unprofessional was and then being ignored post op because of my review on Realself which made my concerns clear Realself denied me access to my account which I’m pretty sure was Dr. Mallol’s doing as he pays them to run ads to top it all off Realself actually had people that work for them make me look foolish and crazy to real people that look to the site for real actual reviews smh it’s been over a year since my surgery and let’s say my bbl is almost completely gone leaving me with virtually no bottom at all and the tummy tuck left horrible scars on my tummy do not trust Realself.com for anything point blank period
Must make account to do anything on site
I should not have to make an account just to see the pictures I can find looking on Google. I have to make it to 100 words so I'm just going to type whatever.
Pissed Consumer, you're making my review long and pointless just because you want to enforce a word requirement. My review was over after 20 words but you're right. Adding more words will totally make reviews higher quality.
HAha not the case. lol {{Redacted}} (sorry I have to fill up this box and its a required section) lol {{Redacted}}
Gestapo

DR. ALBERTO ARGÜELLO IS A FRAUD
UPDATE! If this wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny.
His character really shines through in his latest debacle.
Dr. Argüello used letterhead PILFERED from an INDIANA LAW FIRM and the NAME OF A FAKE ATTORNEY to send me a 4 PAGE LETTER threatening TO SUE if I don't IMMEDIATELY TAKE DOWN MY WEBSITE and REMOVE MY PISSED CONSUMER REVIEWS! You can smell the desperation can't you?
The letter was on raised letter stationery from an actual law firm in Indiana. What tipped me off was that the 'attorney' added his email at the end of the letter & told me to contact with him only through email.
Hmmmmmm?
I called the office listed on the letterhead & was quickly informed that there was NO attorney by that name on staff. They never heard of him. I double checked the firm's name & contact information to make sure I called the right place.
I even asked if they had other offices, etc, but she insisted he did NOT work there & she never heard of him.
I asked her to double check just to make certain he wasn't employed there. After all, this guy was threatening a lawsuit. I couldn't understand how I'd received a letter on their letterhead from an attorney threatening me with a lawsuit if he didn't even work there. It was like the Twilight Zone.
After a long hold, a woman who called herself Roseann got on the phone.
First, she refused to identify her position, then she proceeded to stumble through a pathetic explanation, which did not stand up to questioning. She finally blurted out after hat Mr. Yelkovac was 'of council', she couldn't say if he was coming into the office, she wouldn't say if he even had an office or if he knew the partners. She kept re-iterating that I should email him at the address provided in his letter.
As it turns out... Roseann stole the letterhead and was flustered because they never expected me to call. Roseann was probably duped into stealing the letterhead, either directly by the silver tongued Dr. Argüello or his friend.
She probably also lost her job over this because I wrote to the partners exposing the entire scenario. If she's a paralegal she just rendered herself untrustworthy, if she's an attorney, she could be sanctioned for behavior like that. Stealing letterhead for someone so they can use it for the purposes of fraudulent legal intimidation is serious. After that call, I was on a mission to figure out who this guy was.
I went to the Indiana State Roll of Attorneys, he's NOT listed as a practicing attorney or even a sanctioned attorney, he's just not listed! Searches found 1 or 2 older cases involving schools, but nothing recent. My next step is to contact Peter Yelkovac to determine if he did indeed write that letter and participate in the fraud or if he's unaware the Dr. Argüello has been using his name.
This should be interesting. I did email 'Mr. Yelkovac' at the specified email and I copied Dr. Argüello just to let him know that he'd have to do a little bit better than sending letters from pretend lawyers!
That was an epic failure. Anyone that still thinks he's pure and cares about his patients should think again. It's ALL about the money for him, the rest is an act. Being banned from RealSelf has all but stopped his influx of easily hidden, tax-free U.S.
cash, he's desperate to turn that spigot back on. Sad, really sad.
I feel that RealSelf resolved the issue by removing him as they should have following their investigation, but Dr. Alberto Argüello is not to be trusted, find a real surgeon.
Real Self did the right thing and removed Dr. Argüello from their site. His account was deactivated, he can no longer take patient referrals from Real Self and will not be allowed to have a RealSelf account again.
Visit: www.plasticsurgeoncostarica.com to get all of the information on this doctor.
He's a spoiled, privileged brat who will NOT admit to a mistake or make a revision no matter how serious the need. He can't be sued in Costa Rica & he's insulted & bulletproof on RS.
RS told me they don't get involved in malpractice, that's between you & your doctor, so they continue to market him, despite his conduct.
He makes his patients lie on RS, he uses all kinds of trickery to get us to support him no matter how awful our surgery turned out, we blame ourself, not him. I noticed a pattern of that with his patients. It's the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. I did it myself for many months.
I had almost $15,000 worth of surgery with him in September 2015. I developed complications which I told him about BEFORE I left Costa Rica & many times after I got home.
We even drove to Boston in October only weeks after I got home when he was there for a conference, so he could stitch my breast closed until I could get my insurance claim filed & return to Costa Rica for him to fix it.
He conveniently forgot to bring sutures after we drove 9 hours to see him & he knew my breast implant was NOT secure & ready to fall out. He pretended to be meeting us there to stitch my breast, but he knew if he stitched me in the U.S. I could sue him here, so he 'forgot' the sutures!
He told me in Boston that I needed to be back in the O.R. in Costa Rica, ASAP. He told me to file an insurance claim & he'd bring me back for all the repairs I need, breast, arm, eyes & make sure everything was covered, including my air fare.
Seven Corners said it would take about 3 weeks to conclude the process, so I planned to go right back in early November.
I WAITED 7 MONTHS WITH A BREAST IMPLANT FALLING OUT OF MY BODY, TO FIND THAT DR. ARGÜELLO IGNORED ALL REQUESTS FROM SEVEN CORNERS FOR MY RECORDS, DESPITE THEM SENDING SIGNED RELEASES & REPEATED REQUESTS FOR THE RELEASE OF MY RECORDS & TELLING HIM THEY COULDN'T MOVE FORWARD WITH MY CLAIM UNLESS HE ANSWERED THEM.
They finally denied my claim for lack of response by my doctor. He knew they couldn't process the claim without his records so he just avoided them. Seven Corners is still trying to get him to release my records but he is still side stepping them.
THIS CHARLATAN KNOWS I HAVE NO RECOURSE TO SUE HIM IN COSTA RICA, BUT WANTED TO ASSURE HIS MONEY STREAM FROM RS, SO WITHIN HOURS OF ME TELLING HIM I WAS GOING TO EXPOSE HIM ON REAL SELF, HE HAD MY ENTIRE PROFILE REMOVED. HE REPORTED ME AS A LIAISON!
This man is evil, he care only for getting as much U.S. cash in to his hands as possible, he does not care how he gets it.
He fooled all of us with his sweet demeanor & caring ways but that's an act he's really a vicious, drama queen who's whole life is a big, ugly soap opera.
Your surgical outcome is a *** shoot depending on what current drama he's hiding behind that face smile the day you're up & depending on whether or not he wants to leave early.
MY BREAST IS NOT THE ONLY MISTAKE HE MADE. I have to pay another surgeon to repair the obvious mistakes made by Dr. Alberto Argüello.
He's a bad surgeon & an awful person. He pretends to be practically perfect to his U.S. patients because he wants U.S. cash, which we gladly deposit into his U.S. bank account. He needs our cash to support his extravagant lifestyle & his failed ventures like his spa that barely lasted a year, his skin care line which caused a permanent marks on my R eye & his constant trips & vacations.
HE'S HAVING HIS U.S. DOLLARS DEPOSITED INTO A U.S. BANK, HE THINKS HE CAN SCAM THE COSTA RICAN GOVERNMENT ON TAXES TOO... THIS MAN IS DISHONEST IN EVERYTHING HE DOES.
DO NOT USE THIS DOCTOR
- Betrays his patients
- He is on rs but violated rules
- Liar cheat fraud bad surgeon
Preferred solution: I submitted concrete evidence that he's in violation of RS rules & was assured he'd be removed, he's still on! He was able to remove my profile within hours with no inquiry made to me as to the validity of his claim, but he's still on. RS LIES!
Hid my reviews of Dr Sidney Coleman
I did contact RealSelf about where my reviews of Sidney Coleman are. They are hidden or removed as are the countless of other reviews that stated that this surgeon mutilated them or changed their appearance in an astonishingly way for the worse.
There has been no response from RealSelf. I just didn't realize that RealSelf makes its money by removing bad reviews or hiding them(?) and by advertising those doctors and others on their site. It is a money making business thatONLY SEEMS to have the client's interest at heart. I hate to think how many people have read good reviews of Dr.
Sidney Coleman's work and went ahead with a doctor who is more of an unethical scientist with no aesthetic abilities than a plastic surgeon.
I am shocked that RealSelf has a double standard and that they failed to get back to me when I wrote to them. It is beyond reprehensible.
- Refuses to acknowledge mistakes
- Scams patients into lying for him
- Liar cheat fraud bad surgeon
Drs. Bopp Dermatology; a happy experience
Dr. Barbara Bopp is a conscientious dermatological provider.
I recently benefited from her filler injections, with a very positive outcome. Her attention to detail and knowledge of facial sculpting allowed me to benefit in a most productive manner. I have had these injections before by another provider. The first Doctor did not have the same gentle touch and concern for the pain and discomfort.
Dr. Bopp and her assistance gave to hand held vibrators to use on my collar bones to distract me from the pain. Dr. Bopp's assistant gently tapped on my shoulder to further distract me.
The first provider, although very professional did not take these extra precautions, and I experienced some immediate and unsettling physicals results and a lot of bruising; none of this with Dr. Barbara Bopp! Dr. Felix Bopp had his assistant immediately applied ice while he was preforming the injections around my eyes.
NO bruising, and he asked to see me a week later as a follow up to plan future procedures.
I appreciate the thoroughness and compassion greatly. I highly recommend these two physicians.
Realself is not the place to shop for doctors.
I'd like to start by saying Realself did not influence my decision making, because I do not use reviews online for places where astroturfing occurs to make decisions about my body. However, I know there are many people on there that are eager or borderline desperate and are unaware of what Astroturfing is.
The reviews on there for many of the doctors appear to be very padded. In addition there are doctors answering questions that are suggesting to people to get more surgery or are pointing out people's flaws which is pretty unethical and borders on a sales pitch. Why would any doctor try to make you feel insecure? This really doesn't match up with getting medical advice.
There are also doctors answering questions in there that are not plastic surgeons, but gynecologists performing cosmetic surgery due to laws in the states that they are operating in that have loopholes. The gynecologist reference is an example of only one particular doctor, Ayman Shahine, but he's not the only one. In addition there are numerous doctors that are facing serious malpractice allegations and reports to state authorities that is easily attainable public information. Yet these doctors are still there as 5 star doctors.
It's also just tragic when someone is obviously suffering from Body Dismorphic Disorder to hear doctors using this site swaying the patient to get yet another revision surgery with them, because they see the problem and can fix it for X amount of cash. Tragic for someone with a clear psychological illness to be taken advantage of and it's foolish for anyone to think that a doctor would not suspect a mental health problem. The founder of this site, Tom Seery, has made statements that are very conflicting about the sites agenda. It boils down to basic common sense.
How can Tom Seery claim this site is a place for the consumer and talk that up and then shortly after talk up profitability in other publications for his company and the doctors paying to be members of and advertise on his site. Conflict of interest much Tom?
What's harder to wrap my head around is Tom Seery is not an unintelligent man so therefore that leads me to conclude something very deeply ugly about his character. My hope is that the government steps in and shuts this site down and holds the charltans both internally and externally accountable.

This is 100% accurate. Realself enables these surgeons to manipulate negative reviews to overly inflate their reputations.
Because of this many of us chose our surgeons through Realself that now we feel ruined our face. We may not have chosen our surgeons had we had the chance to read the negative reviews that were removed.
